I would highly recommend Vishal if you are looking for a knowledgeable and highly reliable guide, airport transfers or just to drive you around Mauritius. We were given Vishal's contact by a friend. After initial contact the replies were prompt, prices very competitive and reasonable. More importantly when Vishal was busy he arranged one of his team to ensure our plans were not cancelled. Vishal has all the right contacts to get you bookings at busy places and also handy tips to go to places and not spend time in queues. We spent a fantastic day in flat island travelling with martial. We left at 9 from Cap Malhereux and got to the island in 45 minutes, we were the only tourists in the boat, we were accompanied by his family. Once on the island we had time to snorkel on the channel between Flat Island and Gabriel Island, there we had the best snorkelling of our stay in Mauritius, we saw angel fish, picasso fish ... At 12:30 we had a a great lunch prepared by Martial who treated us like real VIPs, including rice, chicken,grilled fish and a tasteful dessert. Then again back to the beach for swimming and snorkeling until 16:00h, going with Martial you get to spend one more hour in the island than going with the catamarns. And for finishing the day on top, we saw dolphins on our way back!! If you want to go to the Flat Island, Martial is the best option. See more..

It is a diving trip but we just wanted to snorkel Coin de Mire and the team was very accommodating. So for 1k Rs pp we got 2 hours in the water in 2 locations near the island, which we thought was amazing value and a spectacular place to snorkel. So many types of fish, and we saw a turtle and moray eel. We saw a pufferfish, tons of angel and butterflyfish, a massive parrotfish, loads of Moorish Idols, trumpetfish and unicornfish, the list goes on. We managed to leave our mask boxes on the boat and they found it and brought it to us the next day in our location. Magnifique! See more..

We just came back from a private tour to flat island on the Dreamcatcher. We booked the tour quite spontaneously and were happy when Eva was able to accommodate our request at this short notice. Thornton welcomed us at the pier of Cap Malheureux and introduced us to the crew. The crossing to the island took approx. an hour and was quite stunning, although the partly 2 meter waves seemed a little bit of a challenge sometimes. I tend to get seasick, but was fine with superpep medication (just a note for fellow sufferers). At flat island we were one of three boats - however, the 25 or so people scattered quite well. However, there are a few more boats just opposite on Ilot Gabriel which bring their guests with small speedboats over to flat island. The island itself is nice - some stretches of beach are truly beautiful, others rather ok. What was fantastic was the snorkeling just in front of the beach - fascinating fish within a partly intact reef. Definitely a highlight. The Dreamcatcher was in ok shape (it could have used a little bit of paint here and there). What bothered us quite a bit was the crew - skippers Christopher and Jonas. Paying 260 euros for the trip, we would have expected them to be a little more cordial and welcoming. Instead, they were quite unfriendly and indifferent which felt almost rude. Rather than an exclusive tour where we should have felt pampered, we had the impression the skippers just wamted to get the tour over with. It was a pity because the skippers' attitude and tone did spoil our experience a bit. But it was still a great day! See more..

I have just finished my open water diving course with Tony and Deano at Crystal Divers up in the north of Mauritius. It's hard to explain the level of fun, professionalism, and general amazing banter that I experienced from the crystal diverse team. From Emma [Tonys wife] incredible correspondence skills to Tony and Deano's professional approach to diving and still being able to make each dive a one of a kind experience. I highly recommend anyone from anywhere to enjoy the awesome hospitality and amazing underwater experience that this company has to offer. On top of all that I tried to sneakily have my birthday over this time [I am not a birthday person] and they still managed to surprise me with dinner and a cake! Olivier and his team were wonderful - we contacted him when booking flights, he was very helpful and accurate on his services. The dive shop is excellently equipped and very well organised. They look after each customer and don’t run busy boats, max 4people/ dive but often we were less We were able to do rebreather diving (JJ) and he offered full support for both tec and recreational dives. My son did recreational dives and Hervin looked so well after him. Mauritius is beautiful under water but our guides made it exceptionally good , spotting scorpion/ stone/ leaf fishes, interesting and rare little crabs and other creatures. We came as customers and live as friends and very happy we chose to dive with them. Thank you a lot for all your help and a great diving holiday, we hope to return See more..

This is probably one of the most popular activities in Mauritius. You will take a catamaran boat and it will take about two hours until you get to the Island. You wont be the only catamaran - a minimum of 10 others will be there with you. There are two islands, one in front of each other. Most people will go to the one on the right (Plate), but I highly recommend that you go to the one on the left - it is just as beautiful but a lot more private. See more..

Fantastic whole day tour to Flat island and Gabriel island. The sea was a bit rough on the way out to Flat island but they took us safe out there. Very nice and comfortable boat and the guys were really nice and helpful. The bbq lunch they served was really nice. On the way back we stopped for snorkelling and that was the best snorkelling on Mauritius so far. See more..

We found Aquila fishing charter on our own, and chose it based on what they offered and their equipment. As soon as we contacted the owner, Gerald, I could tell it was going to be a good experience working with them based on how responsive he was and compared with other fishing excursions we have planned. When we arrived Gerald was there waiting, took us out to meet the crew and board the boat. the crew was great - spoke pretty good English and were hard working and very friendly. You could tell they were excited to do what they did - and went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. When we were able to hook a big Blue Marlin they were just as excited as us, and didn’t stop trying after that. The only thing to note, is that other charters we had been on they provided a light lunch - with Aquila you are really expected to bring that yourself (which was no problem to organize through our hotel). The boat also is the final say in whether you catch and release. In our case, the Marlin was taken which if we had a say we would have liked to see the fish released. After a 3 hr fight the fish would have been shark bait which is why the captain decided to harvest the fish. See more..
