Arnaud gave us a great 1/2 day tour of the islands which included snorkeling with sea turtles. He is an excellent captain, is friendly, and he knows enough of the local history and current events to have answered all of our questions. He even showed us the boat on which he and his family live and we got to exchange greetings with his wife and daughter. A great day with all of the personal touch you would want. Dive Bottle were fantastic during our stay on Les Saintes in August 2014. I wanted two of my teenagers (aged 19 and 17) to try diving for the first time, and they had a fabulous experience with Dive Bottle. Laurence and Philippe were so lovely! They clearly take safety as the first priority, and you know you are in very competent hands. They give excellent advice (their English is fine), and at no time did I worry about my kids. While they dived (one by one with Laurence - this is a very personalised service) I snorkelled and could see amazing fish, coral and sealife just below the surface - the divers saw even more obviously. I'm very happy that my two had an excellent first experience of diving. The tea and madeleines were also very welcome. And the setting is absolutely stunning, just out of this world. Last week my husband & I visited Terre de Haut on a cruise & I called a week or 2 before our arrival & reserved a golf cart for the day. I think it was 70 Euros for the day. Pierre, the owner, helped me on the phone & when we arrived that morning we had a golf cart ready for us for the day. We really enjoyed sightseeing for the day as there are no cars on the island & this allowed us to see everything there was to see & have fun doing it. Highly recommend reserving from Aqua Blue!!! Le Chameau is the highest point on this tiny island (309m/1,014 ft) and the views from up top are amazing! This is a fairly strenous hike and you need to be prepared for steep incline/decline and meeting a lot of mountain goats along the way! It took me approx. 90 minutes from the town up to the top and back, but the weather was superb, so if it is hotter then allow more time. There are no facilities so you will need to bring plenty of water etc with you. There is an old dilapidated fort-like structure on the top with a ladder on the outside of it, but I didn't climb that as it did not look very stable. If you are into hiking then this is a very rewarding one to do! See more..

One of the highlights of our cruise port stop at Terre-de-Haut was visiting the parish church of the island: Notre-Dame-de-l’ Assomption. The church is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and honors the French victory of August 15, 1666 against the English troops. Interestingly, the church has a bell tower housing four bells, the oldest dating back to 1820. Be sure to look at the ceiling. It is in the shape of a reversed ship hull donated by a group called “Carpenters of the Navy”. The main altar has a painting of the Assumption of Mary into Heaven (celebrated on August 15th). Side altars are dedicated to the Virgin Mary and St. Joseph. There is a sculpture on the church grounds marking its 350th anniversary. See more..

We stayed at and AB&B and walked to every beach on the island. This was one of the last and the best by far. The beach is about 800 meters end to end., in a cove protected by an island. Off to the right there is a rocky path to a small sand beach and sand bar, you can wade or swim over to the island. Awesome view back to the main beach. If in Les Saintes you should not miss. There are two good restaurants right near the beach entrance. There are even a few picnic tables for early birds!
