  3. 4.5 Pointe des Chateaux (4.669 reviews)
    - A spiritual moment in paradise
    Historic Walking Areas
    Pointe des Chateaux image
They say they built the cross up there to protect the island from potential storms etc . We went to the point on our first day. Beautiful drive from Le Gosier through st ann and st Francois to get there. About 25 min hike but there's nice vistas to take pics so about 35 m each way I'd say... We stayed for a bit up by the cross but it was hot. There's some candles and prayer remnants around...unreal views and it's where Carribean sea and Atlantic meets for it's pretty crazy ocean wise as well. Vendors serve refreshments and souvenir at base. A spiritual experience. See more..

    - Don't miss this amazing museum!
    History Museums
    Memorial Acte image
You simply can not miss this museum if you go to Guadeloupe and you pass by Pointe-à-Pitre. It is an absolute must. Allow one hour (minimum) and take in all the stories, pictures, video displays etc. It is one of the best museums I have ever visited and I have travelled a lot. We tried to send e-mails in English well in advance about storing luggage (since we were on our way to the airport) but our taxi driver helped us last minute and everything worked out fine. 6. 4.5 Anse du Souffleur (608 reviews)
    - Best kept secret if you don't mind a bit of an adventure
    Beaches
    Anse du Souffleur image
The main beach is nice, has food trucks, bathrooms, and a small shop across the parking lot, but if you really want to see all this beach has to offer, drive to the far end of the parking lot, and follow the bumpy dirt road to the end...and don't freak out when the ocean is practically licking your tires along one corner. If you can make it this far, you will find private little pullouts for parking that lead to short footpaths to your own private beach, some complete with covered picnic tables. The beach here is a small, palm lined coral reefed cove, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. One of my favorite beaches on the island, and well worth the effort to get there if you have a spirit of adventure See more..

Quiet and peaceful beach with plenty of trees under which you can set up a hammock or bring a towel to relax and read a book. Close by is a conveniently located restaurant where you can buy food or buy a beer to bring to your set up place in the beach. There are also kiosks if you want to plan a picnic with your friends and a park surrounding the beach if you feel like walking and exploring the tropical forest and take advantage of other views from the top of a canyon. Loved it! See more..

We Just got back from Anse Laborde, a Beach outside of a Anse Bertrand in Guadalupe on grande terre. This has been a very challenging trip but our visit to Laborde Beach restaurant was one of the most pleasant meals we have had since the trip began. The local owner named Vanessa speaks some English and is very attentive. The food was also some of the best food we have had here. This is the first restaurant you come to with the colorful chairs under the canopies at Laborde Beach. The accras de morue were fabulous as were the drinks and the green fish salad. The kids had the menu d’enfant and their chicken wings were tender and tasty. Don’t miss this gem at our favorite beach so far. There was a nice breeze and beautiful open views of the water. We will likely be back on Our day of departure as Vanessa said she opens at 10 AM for coffee and Will likely try to get lunch before we hit the road to the airport! See more..

  28. 4.0 Plage de La Caravelle (999 reviews)
    - Perfect Beach!
    Beaches
    Plage de La Caravelle image
This lovely beach is out of a magazine ad - blue water and tall palm tees. All beaches are public and this happens to be the Club Med Beach. You are welcome to bring your own towel or you can rent a chair from Club Med for EUR 10 per person. This is our favorite beach on Grand Terre. Just outside of the Club Med property line, vendors are selling local food, drinks and coconut sorbet. It is a little bit of a walk from the parking area and don't let the forbidding gates fool you - head towards the water, go through the revolving gate at the breach and keep walking until you make a hard right and see the orange and red Club Med bar. Then - enjoy your day! See more..
  29. 4.0 Ilet du Gosier (849 reviews)

    Ilet du Gosier image
This small island is very beautiful. shadow water which suits small kids. there is no beach chair or umbrella on the beach which gives a bit of the wild feeling. there is a boat service very close to our hotel ( karibea beach hotel). Return fare is 7 eur per person (including kid). The boat went to different hotels to pick up people. The boat ride itself is also very interesting - especially when the sea is rough. See more..
  30. 4.0 Lagon de la Porte d'Enfer (327 reviews)
    - The power Of two oceans Unleashed
    Marinas
Lagon de la Porte d'Enfer image
While in Anse Bertrand, we were trying to find the exact location for La Porte d'Enfer, which was not coming up in the GPS. We even stopped 2 French tourists on the side of the road, and they were able to locate it on their map. While playing with the GPS, my wife had the brilliant idea to select the restaurant "Chez Coco', (Based on history of Mme Coco in Guadeloupe) To our delight, the restaurant was located exactly right at the entrance of La Porte D'Enfer. We stopped to have a quick bite to eat, and went for our hike to take some pictures. Pictures turned out beautiful, as this is where the two oceans meet. Easy hike that can be done with young children. See more..
