We visited as a family of 4 (2adults and 2 children aged10 & 11) over the Easter holidays. We didn't book in advance and having checked the website just took the risk of there being availability which there was. The staff were pleasant and friendly and went through all safety information very clearly. The track is massive and the cars were in very good condition. It cost approx £48 for 10mins - the 2 children raced in smaller cars and then my son ( he was just tall enough to try an adult car and was checked carefully) and his dad raced in the larger ones. 10 mins doesn't sound like long but it was plenty, especially for our 11 yr old who raced twice. They don't allow a mix of cars sizes on the track at any one time. Good fun and the highlight of our trip for our 11 year old. See more..

Dopo la visita ai due cimiteri di Helsinki (Hietaniemi e Malmi) ho voluto visitare il terzo grande cimitero della regione dell'Uusimaa, quello della città aeroportuale di Vantaa, la quarta in Finlandia per popolazione.
Ci sono vari autobus direttamente da Helsinki o Vantaa, a seconda del lato dove si entra. E' molto diverso da Hietaniemi e Malmi, il primo sorge quasi sulla sponda di un lago adiacente il mare, il secondo è un parco molto alberato, Honkanummi è un fitto bosco misto di abeti ed altre essenze. E' molto grande, credo il secondo dell'intera Finlandia dopo Malmi. Avevi visto solo qualche foto che non rende l'idea. A differenza dello Skogskyrkogården di Stoccolma, diviso in parte bosco e in parte una grande radura priva di alberi con al centro una collina per la meditazione, questo è totalmente boscoso al 90 %, solo le tombe musulmane si trovano in spazi con meno alberi, In pratica ero l'unico visitatore, oltre a me c'erano i giardinieri che con cura tagliavano l'erba per renderla all'inglese.
Tombe semplici e bellissime, esplosione di colori e di profumi, funghi. scoiattoli....
Strano che sia conosciuto solo dalla popolazione locale, ma per chi si trova a Vantaa diretto a al parco nazionale di Sipoo è un'attrazione imperdibile. Due ore incantevoli e non me ne volevo più andare. è la più bella sorpresa di questo mio secondo viaggio in Finlandia See more..

Dopo i cimiteri di Hietaniemi e Malmi ad Helsinki ho voluto visitare anche il terzo grande cimitero, quello di Vantaa, che si trova all'interno dell'ononimo comune ed è facilmente raggiungibile con gli autobus. Il nome del cimitero è Honkanummi, Pensavo che il cimitero nel bosco di Stoccolma fosse il top di Europa per bellezza. Mi sbagliavo. Questo è totalmente boscoso non ha nulla da invidiare e si trova in una fitta foresta mista di abeti ed altre essenze. Anche se le tombe non sempre come imponenza sono all'altezza di quelle di Hietaniemi o Malmi, il paesaggio forestale da solo vale il viaggio ed è complessivamente superiore agli altri due cimiteri. Sono stato due ore quasi completamente solo, in un bosco magnifico con il prato all'inglese curato da solerti giardinieri. C'è anche una sezione di tombe islamiche. I fiori erano meravigliosi, inoltre ho anche visto funghi e scoiattoli. Non è un posto turistico, ma se vi trovate a passare vicino l'aeroporto o il parco nazionale di Sipoo dovete andarci See more..

Not a mall you would particularly visit unless you are staying at Helsinki Airport and have a few hours to kill, which was our case as we missed our connecting flight and Finnair put us up for an evening at the Scandic hotel. The mall can be accessed through the 561 bus that leaves from stop 25 at Terminal 2 and takes around 10 minutes. Lots of shops and eating options there and we even saw a movie at Flamingo next door. Getting back to the airport from the same bus was also convenient. The bus rides is around 3 Euros. There is a ticket machine at the airport bus stop that takes credit cards, but not on the bus stop at jumbo, so make sure you have cash for the ride back, or use their bus app and connect it to your credit card beforehand. The station is nice, well served with restaurants and bars. Even a small market. The only problem I had is to find someone working there that actually can give train information, but that didn't affect how nice the station is. For new passengers: your ticket will show which wagon (couch) number is yours and since the train will stop there for few minutes, it will be better if you can locate where your wagon is going to stop to be just in from of it and board the train faster. On every lane there is a board hanging from the ceiling at the platform. That sign will indicate where your couch number is going to be and give you a reference letter (A, B, C, D....). You just need to find the platform zone with that letter. Btw...the overnight train trip is a blast, specially if you have kids. Have fun. See more..

We have visited here and the Flamingo entertainment center connected to Jumbo many times as staying at the nearby hotels. Finally, we have learned how to find everything and what is the easiest way by foot in and out of the shopping center. You can find here about 120 specialty stores.
