    The historic Forssa Cotton Mill was founded by Swedish-born Axel Wahren in 1847. The Spinning Mill was soon followed by a Weaving Mill, yarn dye works and the first industrial fabric printing plant in the country. The developing textile industry soon attracted people from near and far, and the small factory town grew into a city. The spinning mill ceases operating in 1980, after which it has been renovated into a vibrant cultural centre and a fun place to visit. Visit our museums and exhibitions, and enjoy refreshments at the terrace by the 36-meter-tall chimney. You can also check out the Kuhalankoski rapids and admire the green landscape which brings together the historic industrial red-brick architecture, as well as the park that borders it.     Axel Wilhelm Fahren perusti puiston vuonna 1852 ja puutarhuri Rydberg istututti puistoon vuosina 1861-1885 harvinaisia puulajeja kuten lehmus, tammi, saarni, poppeli, tuomi, vaahtera, lehtikuusi sekä erilaisia koivuja, kuusia, sembramäntyjä, pihlajia ja vuorijalavia. Rydbergin jälkeen tehdasyhtiö vaali puistoa lähes sadan vuoden ajan. Kaupunki otti sen hoidettavakseen 1970-luvun lopulla ja osti puiston itselleen Kehräämöalueen kaupan yhteydessä vuonna 1982. Yhtiönpuistoa perusparannettiin vuonna 2003. Alueelle istutettiin 53 kpl uutta runkopuuta: lehmuksia, tammia, jalavia, saarnia, kirsikkaa, vaahteraa, koivuja ja jalokuusia. Puistoon asennettiin 21 uutta valaisinta sekä remontoitiin suihkulähde. Puistossa sijaitseva Tehtaankoulu suojeltiin rakennussuojelulailla ja siirrettiin Yhtiönpuistoon 1979. Samassa yhteydessä rakennusta korjattiin ja se saatettiin kansalaisopiston käyttöön. Tehtaankoulun ulkovuori maalattiin 2017. See more..

    Kuhalan myllyn uudelleen rakentamiseen tarvittava savi vuonna 1845 hankittiin Ankkalaminpuistosta. Tästä sai alkunsa Ankkalamminpuiston lammikot. Kauppala osti alueet 1926 Oy Finlayson Forssa Ab:ltä ja 1959 Suomen Yhdyspankilta. Kauppala päätti vuonna 1928 alueen kehittämisestä puistoksi ja 1949 kauppalanpuutarhuri Eino Eramo teki ensimmäisen virallisen puistosuunnitelman alueelle. Ensimmäiset linnut, 2 hanhea , luovutti kauppias H. Lindfors kesän ajaksi. Vuodesta 1960 on lammilla ollut kyhmyjoutsenpariskunta. Ankkalamminpuistossa sijaitsee Suomen toiseksi suurin kirjovaahtera: Acer platanoides ”Drummondii”. 2004 perusparannuksessa lähtökohtana oli säilyttää alueen vanhat puut mahdollisimman pitkälle uuden istutuksen runkona. Uutta kasvillisuutta istutettiin yht. 60 eri lajia tai lajiketta ja noin 8 600 kpl. Puistossa sijaitsee myös pumputtava kaivo, joka on rakennettu vuonna 1862 ja sen on lahjoittanut Forssan kaupungille Forssan Seudun Osuuspankki vuonna 1982. See more..
