Really nice experience! The staff was really helpful and the room was just difficult enough to be able to pass it with two people in the nick of time. The hints were subtle, so you still felt like you succeed even with a few of them. The sensation of passing it was amazing which shows just how good the assignments and problems were. If you are an art enthusiast and like to paint and draw you should plan to spend some time here. It is such a picturesque town that you can spend hours drawing and painting or photographing the beautiful houses, streets, river, nature, and environs of Porvoo. You can also buy some real art (and even the beautiful vintage Arabia ceramic ware) in a number of small and unique antique shops. I also recommend visiting the “Art Factory Porvoo” to see some interesting exhibition of contemporary Finnish artists. Porvoo is also the center of the Swedish-speaking diocese from 1920s years. It has a very important role in the history of the independent Finland: Tsar Alexander I of Russia took an oath to uphold the constitution in this church. It’s very popular wedding venue, Mika Häkkinen’s wedding ceremony was held here, too. We saw this cathedral, but couldn’t go into, because of a wedding. But we walked around it. Lighthouses are so fascinating and Söderskär lighthouse isn't an exception. It's a beautiful place, not too far from Helsinki or Porvoo and well worth a day trip. Just remember to pack some picnic food with you or you can also dine on the boat or have a snack in the café. We travelled to this lovely town from Helsinki by bus. It was fast (45 minutes) and comfortable. We walked in narrow streets among the old wooden houses and saw the famous church. We admired the traditional dark-red houses on the river bank. It was beautiful and peaceful. In the centre we saw the nice Town Hall Square. I think it’s a must-see attraction. See more..

We were given a tour of Malmgard, a castle dating to 1600's by the actual Count Creutz. He gave a guided tour of his home as well as the history of the property. We then had a light lunch, served in what used to be the home of the dairyman, now a small cafe. We tasted several microbrews that are brewed on the property. The farm is also a working farm , specializing in organic farming. There is a small shop attached to the microbrewery where organic cooking products are sold. Linnanmäki ( in english Castle Hill ) is a very intresting place close to the river and to the Old Town. In old days there was a castle of wood built of army forces from Denmark. There is still very large sand walls which were build around the castle. The castle was in the centre of the hill and the sand walls was in 2 circles around the castle. When you go up to the centre of the hill you will go over 2 bridges. From this place you have a very fine view out to the Old Town and to the river. Our guide took us for a ride to Porvoo, which is a charming village of wooden houses about an hour outside of Helsinki. We visited this church, built in 1450, and containing some symbols of ancient Christianity. We walked the cobblestone streets of town, and shopped in the small boutiques. It was a worthwhile visit. It was striking to learn that for most of its existence a bakery has resided here. It was only in the latter half of the 1970s that the city acquired the building, converted it to an art gallery with the first exhibition taking place in 1978. The setting in a little street not far from the Town Hall Square is quite attractive. A number of wire figures of birds adorn one facade.
