- 4.5 Laongo Sculpture Symposium (71 reviews)
-Well Worth the Visit
Gardens
A very interesting and unique attraction in West Africa. Every two years, artists from around the world are invited to create sculptures in the garden (mostly using the boulders in their natural setting). A guide interprets some of the highlights for you during your visit (included in the 2500 CFA entrance fee). Like the other reviewers have mentioned, this is yet another example of Burkina's creativity in boosting tourism by funding the arts. Quite an example for the region. Bring water and a hat, especially during the hot season. See more..
- 4.5 Village Artisanal de Ouagadougou (61 reviews)
-The best place to get souvenirs
Saturday: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Speciality & Gift Shops
This is a lovely idea and I wish more African cities has this. So often you are being sold cheap trinkets that are made in another African country or in China! At this centre you can see local artists working hard on innovative and contemporary designs that represent their country uniquely. I got some lovely cloths here as well a gorgeous statue. I would have taken more but I had limited XOF and a small case. See more..

- 4.5 Parc Crocodile de Bazoule (3 reviews)
-Up close and personal with crocodiles
Nature & Wildlife Areas
Bazoulé crocodile park is less than an hour drive west of Ouagadougou with a big sign at the junction on the main N1 highway. One does obtain a guide, because although some of the big prehistoric reptiles look passive basking in the sun, others can quickly charge up out of the lake. The overall setting looks serene with water lillies, but a bit deceptive, hence the guide knowing where to be careful and which crocodiles can be touched. There is a restaurant on site serving delicious local food like riz soumbala (a type of jollof rice made with fermented locust beans). There is also a shop featuring local artists and selling home made shea butter soap. An all round educational and entertaining outing. See more..

- 4.0 Parc Urbain Bängr-Weoogo (43 reviews)
-Good for a walk
Parks
I went here several times with a friend to walk--there are many paths here and it would be a good place for a picnic and a place just to get a way and listen to the sounds of the birds, or look for crocodiles in the dry season. Although once the sacred forest, today it could be better maintained as unfortunate signs of modernity have crept in--the signs are rusting out, there is litter in many of the more frequented sections, but it serves as a good get-away for joggers, walkers, bike riders, etc. from the hubbub of the city. There is a snack bar near the entrance, with wifi available, along with a 100cfa entrance fee for foreigners. See more..
- 4.0 Ouagadougou Markets (31 reviews)
-Market
Flea & Street Markets

- 4.0 marché de Sankariaré (9 reviews)
-For those of you wanting a souvenir from Africa and like a haggle...
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Lots of stalls offering all sorts of local crafts / artwork / jewellry / clothes - there are some very talented people. Just beware that by going into one stall you will be pressured into trying to buy something and in going into next door's stall - being nice and commenting how talented people are is positive but ultimately the locals want your cash, so if you don't want it say it. See more..

- 4.0 Musée De La Bendrologie de Manega (2 reviews)
-A great little museum outside town
Spent 1-2 hours Art Museums • History Museums
This museum was outside of Ouagadougou and would be hard to find on your own. It is the collection of one man who wanted the world to know more about the many different tribes that make up Burkina Faso. The guide spoke in French and our tour leader translated his commentary into English. We were the only ones there and I got the impression that not many people know about this museum or visit it. We went on our first day in the country and it provided a good background to what we were about to see up country. See more..
- 3.5 Cathedral of Ouagadougou (32 reviews)
-One of the places of interest
Religious Sites • Churches & Cathedrals
During my last visit to Ouagadougou I asked my driver to show me the Cathedral. At arrival I walked up to the open entrance. In its way it is pretty. When I took a picture of the inside somebody shouted at me and told me to stop taking photographes. ‘Not allowed’ he said. Also outside I was not allowed to make photographes, but I had already taken one. The man could not explain why it was forbidden. A pity. If is an interesting building and I want to share it with you See more..
