   Nate & Collin we’re excellent guides. The river ride up to Lamanai was filled with points of interest, information, and animals. Collin’s keen eyes kept us from missing anything and he made sure everyone saw the iguana or the baby croc along the way. Lamanai itself is amazing when you really understand how little has been excavated and the fascinating things already discovered. We got to smell the incense trees, see the inside of a dropped cohune “coconut” and see magnificent views from the top of Jaguar and Mask Temples. The trip back in the boat was fast and fun.    We had an excellent trip down the New River to the Lamanai Archaeological Reserve in March of 2022. The weather was mostly clear and temperatures were mid 80's with high humidity. Our guide, Coconut Pete, was not only extremely knowledgeable but entertaining as well (Ask him about his royal piercing...) His extensive knowledge extended from the various wildlife you'll encounter down the river (The egret escort is amazing!) to the Mayan culture as well as the history of the Reserve itself. Pete keeps it interesting all the way thru. The 6 hour trip never felt rushed nor lagged and the lunch Pete (claims to have made and :wink:) served at the ruins was delicious! I would recommend eye wear for the boat ride as the wind will dry out your eyes. Bug repellent is a must off the water. See more..

   Leonardo is the best! On Friday evening we decided we wanted to do a tour of lamanai, we assumed we were too late to find one but Leonardo came in and had it all set up for us within minutes! Picked us up from the ferry station Saturday morning, let us stop for breakfast and coffee, gave us a load of knowledge that we never expected! He has so much incredible information to share. He was so kind, knowledgeable, fun, and truly just a joy to be around. I highly suggest booking the Lamanai tour with him as he will tell you so much about the plants, animals, and Ofcourse the ruins. I hope to make it back here to do another tour one day, but if your debating on booking, let this be your answer! Such an amazing addition to our trip. We will never forget. See more..

   We had a wonderful day on the river and at the Lamanai Reserve. We did a private 6 person tour, and happened to be doing our tour on a non cruise ship day. We were essentially the only "tourists" on the river, and maybe only 30 visitors in the park. Ian was our guide from LamanaiBelizeTours. Wonderful young man who has been on the river since age 16 I believe. Very knowledgable and loves doing what he does, and it shows. He was very local and of Mayan descent and spoke at least 4 languages. Elio from the tour company took care of everything, pickup from our hotel and all aspects of the tour were spotless. The ruins and wildlife were amazing. Great pictures without the crowds. This just an awesome day tour for the day after we arrived in Belize City. We enjoyed this tour so much the 6 of us booked Ian then next day for the cave tours. Once again private and beat the cruise traffic. See more..

   We toured with Donicio (Junior) while on a family vacation to Belize. He gave us a fantastic tour - stopping many times along the river to show us unique wildlife and describing the history of the river and its significance to Belize.
