Things to do & places to visit in Out Islands, Bahamas
The Out Islands are synonymous with sport, from the depths of the Gulf Stream that yield big game fish to the coral reefs just off shore that are catnip to scuba divers. - 5.0 Coco Plum Beach (381 reviews)
-Beautiful Bahamian Beach You Don't Want To Miss!!
Spent 2-3 hours Beaches
Excellent beach to visit while on the island, a must-see in my opinion. CHECK THE TIDES THE DAY BEFORE YOU GO, so that you can be there before low-tide to enjoy time to walk the sandbars! Pristine and beautiful beach, lots of sand-dollars to be found, especially in the deeper areas just off the sandbars, most people only look on the sandbar itself. Walked all the way out to another island/cay from the main beach. See more..

-What a drive
Beaches
This beach was everything people say. Remote beautiful unique. The drive is no joke. It was one of our favorite parts of the trip but there were a few times I wasn’t sure our SUV without 4 wheel drive was going to make it. The drive was part of the memory as well ( fun and terrifying) If you have a nice rental with no scratches don’t do it. The car will be scratched afterward. I thought people were exaggerating about the bumps and holes in the road. They aren’t. We spoke with a few people that were there for the 10th time and they said every year the drive is worse. Well worth it if you can get there before Disney ruins it. See more..
- 5.0 Tropic of Cancer Beach (209 reviews)
-Paradise
Beaches
This beach. Just wow. White sand as far as you can see with crystal clear calm water - this is what paradise looks like to me! It was not crowded at all so that was even better. We rented chairs and an umbrella from the small food and drink counter because there is no shade. This beach is a must do when on Great Exuma. Well worth our drive from Ramsey. See more..

-Simply Amazing
Spent 2-3 hours Beaches
Jolly Hall Beach was by far our favorite beach that we came across. The water is beyond beautiful and just seeing it was like a spark to the heart. The water is calm, clean and there are copious amounts of marine life to see. This beach is not private, but on most days, we were the only ones there. When there were other people there, they were so far away from us! See more..

-Great water park, muddy beach!
Islands
Coco Cay is an amazing waterpark! We came and there were just two boats. You can expect to wait 45 minutes to an hour for the really big waterslides. As the day wore on the wait time definitely got less. I do not recommend the beach was mud under the water and smelled really bad. I don’t know if it’s better on the beach club side, I would hope it is at $200 a person. I’m hoping this is just a seasonal thing and it’s not mud all year round! See more..
- 4.5 Beaches of Stocking Island (812 reviews)
-Hike up to Stocking Island Monument
Beaches
A beautiful hike on Stocking Island. We started at Peace and Plenty beach resort and walked all along the Kahari resort beach to the path that takes you up to the lookout and then down to the beach on the Atlantic side (see map in photos). You can also get to the Atlantic side from Chat ‘n Chill by wading across the narrowest part of the channel at low tide and following the path over. Go left along the beach (a good 20 mins or so) until you see the white bouy in the trees (see photo) that marks the path up to the monument. Amazing 360 views. On the way back we had fun in the huge waves. See more..
- 4.5 Half Moon Beach (684 reviews)
-Always nice to be back
Spent More than 3 hours Beaches
We've been 5 or 6 times with Holland America here and everytime it's so nice to be back. Only bad thing is, that HAL has doubled their Clamshell price from 20$ to 40$. Beautiful beach and beautiful views to your ship. Clean, turquoise water and lots of activities from horse riding to glass bottom boats if you want to pay or then you can just stroll around, play some ball, swim etc. for free. Everytime they serve real tasty and fresh Island Lunch and they also sell beers etc. on the beach. Their beach cabanas look nice, but are real expensive. Because there is no big pier/port, you have to take smaller boats to the shore, but ride is short. See more..

- 4.5 Dean's Blue Hole (317 reviews)
-No less than stunning
Bodies of Water
The blue hole was cool but have you seen the beach? It was perfection. We were blown away by the natural beauty of the place. We visited in March so the water was a tiny bit too chilly to swim but the weather was perfect and the beach was sublime. HIGHLY recommend. See more..
- 4.5 Ten Bay Beach (258 reviews)
-Beautiful beach on the Caribbean side.
Beaches
This is an extremely gorges beach on the Caribbean side of Eleuthera. It’s a long expanse of fine sand. The water is very shallow so at low tide you can wade very far out, which makes it great for kids. The rear of the beach is lined with trees so it’s not too hard to find some shade. It’s a popular beach and there are some rental houses along it so don’t expect it to be completely empty. But it’s not crowded, especially if you’re willing to walk a couple hundred yards down from the parking area. There was also good snorkeling along the rocks to the left when facing the water. We saw a gigantic crab, friendly turtle, several stingrays, one large skate or ray, and several large schools of silver and white fish. The middle of the bay is all sand so good to see sand dollars but not a lot else. The road to the beach is pretty rocky. It’s not paved. So make sure your rental Jeep or SUV has good tires. - 4.5 Pig Beach (226 reviews)
-Swimming with the pigs!
Points of Interest & Landmarks • Beaches
What a fun experience. Our excursion was just an hour and a half but that was the Perfect amount of time. We were on a cruise and chose this as an excursion. It was just as expected...we loved the interaction and it was a highlight for us. I don’t know that I would recommend this for small kids...they seemed scared a bit as some of the pigs are large and want this Apple treats. They are very tame though and we had a great time! - 4.5 The Hot Tubs or Queen’s Baths (179 reviews)
-Not exactly bath temperature, but very cool experience!!!!
Hot Springs & Geysers
We enjoyed the Queens Bath, but it was a bit crowded and the water wasn't exactly warm at all. Still, the rock features are very cool and worth the visit!!! I imagine the time of year and the level of the tide can influence this experience. We went at low tide in the late morning around Christmas. I think ideally it would be just before or after low tide in the afternoon. I recommend sand shoes or better yet, sandals. The rocks are sharp!!! See more..

- 4.5 Elbow Cay (137 reviews)
-Most Amazing Getaway
Islands
Elbow Cay is the most amazing vacation ever. We rented a boat and took excursions everyday to surrounding islands or just to cruise around the bay and watch dolphins and look at the sea life you could see through the clear water. The people on the island are so friendly, and it is so relaxing to not have to worry about cars, or a lot of tourists. Most of the people there are residents who have lived there for many years. It is so charming, but it is a definitley make your own fun place. It is easily doable, but you cannot expect there to be a lot of planned activities.
