   Once, I was with a group of friends, and a German traveler, and my Ivorian friend, we decided to go to the theater for some storytelling play, and we were hesitating whether we go in or not, so a woman who seemed to be in charge approached us after noticing our discussion, and she offered us free spots just to introduce us to the storytelling art, and it was so so so kind of her, she marked our day. I think she was the director of the theater. The interior design, a French interior design, just unbelievable how these people built such archaic-looking, with a beautiful architectural taste, it just makes you starring at the ceiling, on the floor, on the statues.     I like the place, it has a beautiful view over the Mediterranean sea, a lot of people come to chill, or to workout, yet I had a bad experience in this forest, when I was with a German traveler, and he was using his camera to take a picture of a sheep, and spontaneously, there were a lot of dogs and the owner of the farm was exaggeratedly angry, and a total extremist where he was insulting me just because of being a friend of a foreigner!     This fairly long stretch of beach along the Mediterranean has a beautiful, Arabian looking entrance gate. There are hotels and restaurants close by. While several other beaches in Oran were absolutely covered with trash (especially along the upper sea walls), Les Andalouses was fairly clean with nice chairs and umbrellas. It was lovely strolling along the shoreline and picking up shells as well as unique rocks. I should also mention that this beach would be a great place for sea glass collectors, as locals apparently don't care about it. In under an hour I found more beautiful pieces of white, green, brown and aqua blue sea glass than I would during an entire beach combing season in Massachusetts. Definitely worth a visit!     The church is abandoned long time ago. Most probably nobody took any care of the church since the time of independence, when most of the Christians had to leave Algeria.     I have a feeling that the building is not used as a Palace of Culture. I highly recommend to drink a cup of mint tea in front of the Palace (across the road). The place might not look attractive with a lot of local men drinking tea/coffee/soft drinks but they are harmful and tea is very good! See more..
