Things to Do in Kabul Province image
Take a picnic, a rug and a good book, and forget where you are for an afternoon. Visit the tomb and let the guards tell you about it, in their unique style. If there's an exhibition at the palace, take a look inside at the architecture and beautifully restored building. Great views over the city (pick a clear day). Gives hope that Afghanistan can change.... See more..

  3. 4.5 Babur Tomb (50 reviews)
    - Must See Kabul
    Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Babur Tomb image
Despite the losses the garden took during the civil war, they are quite lovely. It's a great place to relax, very cool with ample room for couples or a private party of friends. The histories of the Tomb, Queen's palace, Mosque and Pavilion are all very interesting and the staff is knowledgeable but it's probably the surrounding views of the city that make this a must see on your visit to Kabul. 4. 4.5 Kabul Museum (39 reviews)
    - Must see
    Speciality Museums
    Kabul Museum image
The people that work at the museum are as interesting as the artefacts. They bring a bygone era to live and tell the history of the place with much pride and love. The art is of a high quality, display is not according to modern standards but that is amply compensated by the staff. See more..

    - Beautiful city centre landmark

    Shah-e Doh Shamshira Mosque image
This unusual but beautiful two storey mosque stands by the Kabul river. In a small square outside the mosque there are always people selling bird seed and plenty of people feeding it to the pigeons that swoop down from the ledges on the mosque and other nearby buildings. Taking a walk along the row of shops by the river side can be quite entertaining, a chance to see how Kabul is changing. See more..

  12. 4.0 Ganjina (1 review)
    - High quality Afghan handicrafts
Spent < 1 hour Speciality & Gift Shops
    Ganjina image
Ganjina beings together various vendors under one roof, where they can sell their handicrafts- mostly made by vulnerable Afghan women. While the handicrafts can be a bit pricey compared to the local market, but the quality and the finesse of these trinkets speak for themselves. Moreover, since its a women's income generating project, and the income does trickle down to the beneficiaries, one does not feel too bad paying a little extra. I especially love the trinkets at Zardozi and Zarif design. See more..

    Kabul City Center image
The most visited shopping area in Kabul is found on "Chicken St." It is lined with small shops and vendors hawking all sorts of things for sale. Be careful of some of the small statues and decorative pieces as many are not authentic and just cheap items made in China. If you are in Kabul, you are obviously aware of the danger of the area, so move fast and do not linger in any one area. See more..
