    Beautiful Buddha Temples
A must see. Short ferry ride to the island from Zhoushan. Can be extremely busy during peak season with lines over an hour. $18 dollars for the ferry ride each way and about 60 cents to enter the temples. Lots of walking, or wait in lines for the shuttles.

    The Holy mountain!
My husband and I were in Zhoushan ( an island close to Hangzhou China) in late April. Visited Putuo Shan temples and Guanyin statue. Although it was lot of walking, you can take the cable car up to the top of the mountain. Nice scenery. Coming down we used the steps. ( around 1,000 steps). Buses were there too. Lot of cinnamon trees. You will see a lot of Buddhist monks and devotees near the monasteries and temples. To get to this island you have to catch a ferry. The ferry terminal could get quite crowded, but ferry service is quite efficient and very convenient.
