    Nice tower
We climbed the tower for 4 euros per person. You see the tower from everywhere in the city, it was nice to go to the top and see Middelburg and the surroundings from within the tower. Unfortunately it was not the top and the view was not 'outside', you were inside and watched the view through windows. It was a pity the tower was not well maintained (dirty).

    Stairway up to a view...
We could see the tower of the Wandelkerk everywhere in the centre of Middelburg. So we wanted to go up to get a view of Middelburg and the surrounding area. We went up for free as they did not accept VISA or cash, then we had no means of payment. 207 steps to the top for an amazing view where you can on clear days see all surrounding islands of Zeeland. Viewing plattform was inside and not all the way to the top. We found the view not amazing, but we managed to burn a few calories up and down the narrow stairway. The tower dates from the 1600’s but was destroyed during the Second World War. Reconstruction began after the war and the church was reopened in 1955.
