The Woodpecker trail is a 6.8 mile (round trip) paved bike trail through the woods. It is not used much, and frequently you can bike the entire trail and only see one other couple. It's wonderful for taking children, as it is a very easy flat ride, through native Florida. There is a porta- potty at the "Little Shoals" end and a rest room at the Big Shoals end. The cost is only $4 per car with up to 8 people in the car. At a leisurely pace it will take 45-60 min. round trip. There are a couple of benches along the way to stop and rest if desired.See more..
