Magnificent
Having visited in November previously it was so good to experience the scale and grandeur of the mountain in January. We visited in late afternoon after the botanical gardens which was the perfect time as there were no Q’s and we got straight on the cable car. The mountains and view are simply stunning and are absolutely worth every moment, even the terrible lack of service given by the team didn’t spoil the experience.

Cool Views, Get Express Tickets to Save Time
We got to the mountain late, around 5pm and the sunset was around 7. The last cablecar trip down was at about 7. The lineup was down the stairs, across the street, and down the street a bit and was not moving. One of our group went to the express ticket line and got tickets for all of us, so we went to a different line and got on the cablecar - not only immediately - but before they let on other passengers. The cost was considerably more but this meant that we all got to stand directly at the sides of the car by the glass for excellent views. The car rotated on the way up and down. At the top there are lots of trails to walk around and beautiful views of the city, ocean, and surrounding hills. There is one trail that goes all the way around the edge of the mountain and I think it might take an hour to do that. We decided on a short trail and still got to see lots of great views The trails are a bit uneven and if you've got any foot vulnerability, hiking shoes would be a good idea. Our total time spent at Table Mountain, from arriving to leaving in an Uber, was about 80 minutes. Although the views are nice, your experience will be weather dependent. It's windy at the top. Sometimes they will shut the cablecar down because of wind.
