Superb Botanical Gardens
I’m a gardening enthusiast and when organising our month long trip, it was the only reason I decided we should fly into Cape Town, on our previous visit we didn’t get time I wasn’t going to miss out again. From entering the gardens I was in plant heaven, it suggests 2 to 3 hours not long enough in my book. It’s a feast for the eyes beautifully laid out, my concern was my husband can’t walk long distances and needs a seat from time to time, Kirstenbosch is excellent there are seats throughout and he found walking between them easily a huge plus. The conservatory is beautiful with so many indigenous species, I love Fynbos and many were still in bloom. We went to the restaurant and the food was super and reasonably priced. I’d easily visit again, choose whatever the season there would be plenty to see.

A must-see Cape Town attraction
Kirstenbosch offers immaculate gardens, a peaceful atmosphere and plenty of trails to explore. Don't forget to bring sunblock and a hat as quite a few areas are exposed. There is a restaurant, tea room and gift shop on the premises, but these are rather pricey. Perhaps enjoy a cup of tea or a glass of wine with a view before visiting one of the many excellent Southern Suburbs restaurants for a meal instead. That being said, the elevated walkway of the Boomslang Canopy Trail was a definite highlight, and nothing compares to the iconic Newlands mountainscape.
