    Jackson Gore Inn
My husband and I took an easy 4 1/2 hr. ride north to Ludlow Vermont for a 2 night stay at the Jackson Gore Inn. (next door to Okemo) We had heard so much about this new Inn since it opened in December '03 and wanted to see it first hand before the craze of the winter. What a gorgeous place! It's ski in/out with 1 lift right outside the back doors, an indoor/outdoor pool, workout room, beautiful lobby bar, excellent gourmet restaurant (minus gourmet prices) and a huge lobby fieldstone fireplace. Besides the Inn accommodations, people can also rent or purchase condos within the Inn. Okemo is also in the process of building another building next to the Inn with more condos for purchase. Okemo golf course is 5 minutes away and that will be on our list of must do's for the next visit before winter! We are definitely considering a possible purchase!

Good Slopes, Weekend wait time at the main lift
    1. Good all around, from beginners to advanced. There is something for everyone 2. Long runs, there is a good green slope you could relax on, it is a few miles long 3. It does get crowded at the lift on weekends, I'd stay away from Sun Burst if possible, 15-25 min wait 4. For crowd free head over to south side in the morning, few people and great runs, all are rated black diamond, there is one blue/green, but, the first time I took it, I ended up on blue / black. Not a big deal if you can ski, but if you have small kids, make sure you run through it yourself first. 5. Going to south side, you will take "Cat Nap" run that connects two main skiing trail branches. "Cat Nap" is ... slow, but the turn onto it is not. As you come off blue trail at fairly high speed and execute 90 degrees turn, pay attention! With 2017/18 season it rained/refroze a few weeks before and there was a solid ice patch under 0.25" of powder. My 8 year old flew right off and got stuck under a log. When med helpers came up to help to dig him out, one did a graceful split right in front of me on the same ice patch. This sport isn't chess, falls are expected, just heads up on that turn.
