Massive scale of Many great ski options
Skied first time in maybe 10 years and the scale of changes was remarkable. Impressions include: 1) can't ski everything, not even close, 2) variety is impressive from broad groomers to hiking to off-piste steeps, 3) keep a map handy and pay attention to where you are, as it's easy to get on the wrong side of a ridge and then, well you ride a different chair back up to get where you were trying to go, 4) lines were relatively minor even on President's day as never waited more than 5 minutes. Definitely enjoyed and will be back! Proximity to numerous excellent restaurants and hotels walking distance from lifts in PC was another big plus. Recommends: 1) Would buy one of the various pre-season passes, as best prices and then unlimited skiing, 2) identify where you want to go before starting out, especially along the ridge lines, as going one slightly different route will put you on a different side of the mountain, 3) know that the Park City buses are free to the hill, so you can ride one without bothering with a car, and 4) be sure you know that restaurants on a busy weekend are booked weeks in advance and plan ahead.

    Feb Break Something for Everyone
Spent a week skiing Park City and Canyons with 9 people, various levels of skiers, mostly intermediate and advanced. Beautiful wide trails, minimal crowds in the middle of the week. Pick a part of the mountain and explore. There is too much to do in 1 day. We were surprised that there was not a good place at the base to change into ski boots/store your ski bags. This is not a mountain where people stuff their boot bags under the tables in the cafeteria. Everyone either wears their boots in, or buys a $15 locker or bin for the day. They are barely big enough for 1 bag. The change area is in the basement with only about 6 benches. We always found a spot, but it was definitely weird compared to what we are used to at other mountains. The parking lot fills up by about 9:30 midweek and before 9 on weekends. Make sure your skis are clearly marked. I brought my rentals from Boston but they look like every other rental on the mountain and somebody stole mine from the racks while I was in the basement changing my boots. I hope they just took the wrong pair accidentally, but it's been 5 days and mine have not turned up. Park City Slope rents skis on the mountain and they could not have been nicer renting me a new pair and helping me try to track down my lost skis. We liked the food best at Legacy Base lodge, and the cocoa best at the Miners Base Lodge...mostly because the bartenders give amazing whipped cream, which kept my kids on the mountain many more runs than they would have otherwise. It's a great mountain with majestic views and nice people.
