It was very breezy and cold up in the mountain, but please remember to take your UV spray. The mountain was over-crowded, and people were queuing to take picture with the stone. There were yaks statues and souvenir stalls around the mountain. This mountain was about 5200m above sea level. Some of my friends experienced altitude mountain sickness here; headache and vomiting.See more..

This place was the option-B from our local tour guide. And apparently none of us was satisfied with this option. The outdoor nature reserve was nothing special and the museum was closed due to power black out - I can't give any review for the museum. We just walked around the museum, took pictures of the three goats statues and wild flowers. It was out of no where and disappointed.See more..

The drive up this mountain was at time sbit hair rasing , other traffic, and not really sure about road rulles. Also there is no problem with drivers in this part of the world talking on their mobiles while navigating hair pin bends! But the scenery was amazing and beautiful. Part of any trip to Tingri country is a visit to the top pf Gyatso-La Pass (altitude approx. 5,200m). Early birds who leave Tingri around 6:30 to 7:00 am and drive to the top of the pass can, if weather permits, see the first rays of the sun lighting up Mt. Makalu, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Everest as well as Mt. Gyachen Kang and Mt. Cho Oyu. Some great photos can be made but be warned.... I was there end of October, the weather was great but the morning cold was really biting. It was solidly freezing at this altitude. Anyway, the view of the Himalaya giants is breathtaking (literally).See more..
