Riverfront Park, Tennessee, United States

Pleasant walk along the River, with some history mixed in

We walked through the park today on the Greenbelt from the boat ramp to the swinging bridge, about 2.5 miles round trip. It was a beautiful walk along the river, very quiet, with a few families fishing and picnicking. No creepy people, and I even went in the bathroom, which was decent. There were a few geese, and some droppings, but it was not a nuisance. Signs ask that ducks and geese not be fed in certain areas, and also explain that the riverbank is left uncleared to discourage the birds. I was really surprised when I read all the poor reviews on here, AFTER we went! I noticed that most of those are old, so I wanted to update on the conditions we found today. We will go back to do more segments!

the best thing about this park
is the walking suspension bridge that takes you over the south fork of the Holston River to Long Island. Just keep from walking at a steady pace and you'll be fine. there's an important marker on your left once you reach the island.

    Nice place to walk.
Nice walking path or softball fields if you play within the league. There is also a swinging bridge. Nice river to fish but other than that, it doesn't off much. There is no playground for small children or much for them to do besides feed geese/ducks. There are signs posted asking you not to do this but people do it anyway.
