   Perfect for small children. The rocks break the waves and create like a pool of shallow water. It is absolutely perfect for young children to play in less than a foot of water. For adults that wish to snorkel or dive, go out beyond the ‘breakers’. If I had a raft, I would have laid out in this calm water for the day, and probably fried. There are lifeguards.    If you’re a local or a snowbird or just visiting, this is Stuart’s most popular beach. It is guarded, there’s lots of paved parking, showers, bathrooms and hopefully soon the snack shack will reopen. There’s also a playground and covered picnic tables.    Different than other beaches in southern Florida. I'm told these rocks are petrified coral - a consequence of lowered sea level over thousands of years. Very cool! And, knowing the history of the pirate Gilbert makes it even more interesting! We really enjoyed the hour or so we spent here. Just beautiful! See more..
