The park is a few minutes away (driving) from downtown Caldas Novas. Follow the signs to "Parque Serra de Caldas". The entrance is R$ 5 and there are 2 waterfalls. One is 1 km away (Cascatinha) and the second one (Paredão) is 500m away from the entrance. I went on a hot January day and it was worth the visit. The cold water is great after a few minutes hiking in the sun. There were some people there drinking beer and hanging out. The museum is run down and it's just a small room with old taxidermy but since you're there, why not take a look?See more..
9 members of my family hired a tour company to take us to this park. The road is unpaved and hard to transverse. We stopped at the "fan" overlook to see the city from above. Then we visited a medium sized rock formation with bats, and semiprecious stone rocks and a closeup of the native plants. The we visited a small chapel before ascending a steep trail to visit the 2nd highest peak in the state. Our last stop was a private waterfall. We got to swim if we wanted to before we took a different steep trail to meet up with our van. Visiting these places while interesting requires a high amount of endurance and stamina. Do not bother to visit if you cannot climb steep paths or do some simple rock climbing. Finally. We had a very well educated guide who explained the native plants and there medicinal uses. It is well worth the money to hire a guide to explain what you are seeing and help guide you on the trails. See more..

Go by car until the road ends. It is not a perfect road. After that go walking to the top of the mountain. If you have a guide, you can see the colored sand and the "paper trees". Beautiful placeSee more..

See more..
