4.5Ada Canion(8 reviews) - Wow - great stop off en route to Eilat National Parks • Nature & Wildlife Areas
Stopped on way from Mitzpe Ramon to Eilat. Picnic under a thorn tree in the wadi followed by a hike up the gorge to the top of the plateau. Wild landscape and narrow track through sandstone cliffs. Sometimes only a few inches wider than a person! Including a couple of ladders through the rougher parts. Views from the top are fab. Take plenty of water and good shoes/stout sandals. Kids loved it. Paths really well marked. Good info on this and other hikes on Negev Trails website At the wadi paran roadsign take the left hand track and keep on it for around 4km until you see a turning to the L. A few 100m away is a parking area by a sign at the entrance to the canyon. About 45mins to the top. See more..
Please pay attention to the difference between Avdat and Ein Avdat: Avdat is a beautiful archeological site, an ancient Nabatean City and Ein Avdat, a beautiful canyon with steep ridges. They are not far one from the other, less than 10 km. Ein Avdat, the Canyon is quite impressive and the walk is not long nor steep making it ideal for not so fit people or those who have not enough time for the longer walk. Take a look at the pictures and no doubt you'll want to go there. Just be careful to take with you enough water and a hat if you do that from April to October as the heat might be dangerous and you might get dehydrated.See more..
4.0Nitzana National Park(6 reviews) - Great place to visit! Spent 1-2 hours National Parks
Nitzana/Nizzana is the little village/kibbutz near the border with Egypt. Near Nitzana is located Tel Nitzana with the ruins of Turkish-German hospital from the beginning of the 20th century. Under the hill are ruins of the Byzantine church. From the hill is beautiful view around. You can see the ruins of Turkish train station with water tower and army airfield. Near train station you can find some old military stuff (probably form the times when army was using the airfield). There is a lot of spece to walk and to admire the desert and its forms. When army is not shooting at firing range and there are no jets you can enjoy absolute silence. The place is really worth to visit!!!See more..
