Just what a city park should be like!
Located just a stone's throw from the county courthouse on the town square, this is a very nice park. We were there in December when it was set up for the Christmas lights. What a beautiful place. It is easy to imagine the community gathering here in the summer to cool off in the pond, which has a nice little beach. The water mill and pump house, the water fall, the walking path and grounds all come together to created a wonderful public space. Loved it!

Christmas Lights Show
Can’t say we’re fans of San Saba...just a tired old town, but they do know how to put on a Christmas lights display in the park.

A Really Nice Park in Small Town San Saba
My friends and I stopped in San Saba for lunch and to look around this small town. We visited Mill Pond Park and thought it was a great gem for such a little town. They had a large lake with a sand beach that looked ideal for swimming. The area around it had a large pavilion, well landscaped grounds, the San Saba County Museum, ball fields and a Civic Center. It was a beautiful spot to stop by. Why not grab carryout at one of the BBQ restaurants in town and go sit under the pavilion?
