We stopped first across the road at the Mill pond park which is beautiful. This too is beautiful and has historic significance as the original water works. We spent about 45 minutes walking and didn't have time to cover all the paved trails. Nice public restroom and good parking. Some picnic tables but more importantly a great walking trail.See more..

While the San Saba River Nature Park has nice paved walking trails and historical information, this park (which connects to SSRNP) has the same look, but doesn't really have walking trails, but does have lots of family things to do like wide open grassy areas, picnic tables and a playground.
