Thomas Edison Depot Museum, Michigan, United States

Hidden Gem

Why such a small museum for a giant of US inventors. David Dazer the manager/guide is par excellence with his expert knowledge who ensures that if you have time he will take you thro every inch. So much to see, including overhead model train and the attached railway carriage on the outside and much. much more. We actually had to leave for our boat trip but then came back. I would have been really disappointed not to have completed the visit to my satisfaction as chances of return not good from Scotland.

    Edison Gem
I have been to Port Huron many times and for some reason never visited this museum, until now. I can't believe I have waited this long to visit this little gem. It's a great location by the bridge and water. It has so much history that I never knew about Thomas Edison and his connection with Port Huron. I highly recommend a visit to this great museum. I love how they have set it up as well as the completed train car you go go inside of to see how Edison traveled when he was younger from Port Huron to Detroit and back. Wish I had visited here a lot sooner!

A historical must see right under the bridge!
What a great must see right under the bridge. While staying at the adjacent Doubletree hotel we decided to finally check this great and well kept museum out. We were not disappointed! they even have an old rail car you can board (really neat). Lots of hands on exhibits and a short movie too. Learned of 2 other museums in Port Huron & can't wait to check them out. worth a stop. Small gift shop as well.
