Beautiful boutique museum worth visiting.
We (parents+4kids) were immediately captured by the warm and cosy atmosphere and it felt as if we entered the Sultans residence. The sound of live music played on traditional instruments and beckoned us to enter the residence further. The displays of artifacts and Royal memorabilia is well done and up to international standards (first in Malaysia for me). We also learned more about the malaysian aboriginals which have been given a prominent display. Well worth it, our smallest kids were dancing of excitement, the elder ones were impressed! p.s. There is some mixup in displayed dates of BC (Before Christ) AD (After Christ) and H (Hijri islamic calendar = 622 AD) in the english translated display texts.

Very good for a Malaysian museum
Let's face it......Malaysia isn't a country that knows how to exhibit or portray its history very well....just have a look at the National Museum in KL. Compared to that and many others i've been, this is one of the best museums there is in this relatively new country. It's been recently refurbished and renovated.... and they've done a good job at it too. Exhibits are new and informative and the interactive multimedia is impressive and way more advanced then any other museum in the peninsular. The exhibits give a concise but complete overview of the history and culture of Pahang, its rulers and the east coast in general....i absolutely recommend a trip here
