Stunning! Mesmerizing!
I would 100% recommend people to go and visit monkey bay. It has the most beautiful crystal clear water in tioman island. if you visiting the island is a must to take a trip/jungle track from salang to monkey bay. 40 minutes jungle tracking and 15myr/person water taxi that only takes 5 minutes to get there from salang.

A good place to relax
Monkey bay was one of those islands which was so calm and beautiful. ..In Malaysia .We took a boat to the island and costed us 150 ringeet to go up and down from penang. .. There is no inhabitants in this island after sunset. .so pls be back to penang before that. ..

Overrated if you have seen better beaches
In my opinion, monkey bay is overrated. I have been there many times over different times of the day to assess. I find it disappointing as compared to many other spots around tioman. The water visibility, coral and sea creatures are just average. The beach itself is quite narrow and short. My honest view is that Salang beach, no doubt more crowded is much a better beach. Monkey bay can be reached by trekking from Salang, Panuba and ABC beaches. But make sure you are fit before attempting as certain stretches can be quite challenging. But getting lost should not be a concern as long as you do it in daylight and follow the overhang power cables. In fact pulau tulai or pulau renggis just off Tekek is a better spot for snorkelling. But must go there by boat.
