Spaulding Park, Oklahoma, United States

3.0 (4 reviews) Spent < 1 hour Ranking #14 in Muskogee Parks

Small quiet Park just east of downtown

I understand Spaulding has a long rich history with those from the area. We like to go there with our grandkids and walk the dogs on the paths. It's not a real big park but does have a pool, walking paths, pond, community garden, basketball and tennis courts. There's also a large pavilion, picnic tables and a nice playground area for those family functions. Muskogee has many parks throughout town. Spaulding is in close proximity to the downtown area, convenient for quiet lunch breaks and those nice walks in the park. Enjoy the Magnolia, Hickory and huge Oak trees

Glory days may have passed it by but it's still a nice little park in town.
For the first time in MANY years I wanted to revisit Spaulding Park. "Spaulding" holds many childhood memories for me. It is smaller than I remember and it appeared the swimming pool has been closed. There is a small pond for children to fish and there is a gazebo at the end of dock, in the lake. There are bike and walking paths, picnic tables, tennis and basketball courts. It was quiet when I was there at midday during the week but a few folks were around enjoy a quiet visit. It's still a nice little city park, a good place to visit for while... maybe create a memory or two.

    In my daughter's words, "Ew"
I drove my kids by Spaulding Park, which wasn't so bad 40 years ago... Unfortunately, the park doesn't look as good today as it did in 1978. I asked my kids if they wanted to walk around the park, while we were driving by, and my youngest daughter looked out the window and just said, "Ew. No thanks!"
