We came to see the Butterfly "Papilion" (apparently a play on words of "pavilion" and the French word for butterfly "papillon".) While the Butterfly hut was small, it was beautifully executed with pleasant gardens surrounding it. There is a small fee ($3 per adult) to enter the Papilion gardens; the rest of the park is free. The park features a splash pad, a modern playground, several ponds, plenty of shady trees and picnic tables. The April azalea festival and the Christmas lights are special times to visit.See more..
The wife and I decided to take our grandkids we have three teenage girls and one four year old grandson they all had a blast the youngest one enjoyed it the most of course . The restrooms were clean and the staff was nice . We did not eat in side we took our lunch and just walked out the gate and had lunch and came back in with out any issues.See more..

I understand Spaulding has a long rich history with those from the area. We like to go there with our grandkids and walk the dogs on the paths. It's not a real big park but does have a pool, walking paths, pond, community garden, basketball and tennis courts. There's also a large pavilion, picnic tables and a nice playground area for those family functions. Muskogee has many parks throughout town.
