The experience was unlike any other. The island itself has bad reception - which is great for me so I could focus more on relaxing rather than working or social media. Loved the hammocks spread around the area. Only issue was we got stuck here for hours. What was supposed to be an 8am to 5pm tour, turned to 8am to 10pm. For some reason our private guide was not exactly keen to bring us here but I insisted since we chartered the boat. We arrived by 8 :30 and the visibility was poor. If I had another day I would have tried to visit again. I enjoyed the snorkelling and saw some fish species I did not see before and the corals were beautiful. I hoped the area would be bigger but we soon reached a patch of less pristine corals and were asked to return to the boat. If my guide gave me better advice on day one I would have visited twice to get better conditions. My guide mentioned people spearfishing in the area during lockdown. This is sad since tourism can bring money but then the reason you travel half way around the world for must be protected to be worth it.See more..
Although too many people recommends tour A and C . On tour B you pass by this island, and in my opinion is one of the best together with big lagoon . The earlier the better as later gets full of tourist , make sure you climb the small hill as the view gets spectacular! See more..

There are companies in Coron who will take you for a day of sight seeing to many lakes and lagoons. If you have a free day don't miss this. You don't need to actually snorkel, swimming in the crystal clear water is just as good. Banana Island was my favorite island when we did our island hopping tour. We stopped by this island for lunch and stayed for about an hour and a half. The water was crystal clear. The island was clean and well maintained. I would have loves to stay longer. Will definitely book a private boat next time we visit Coron. Prefer to stay at Banana Island than Malcapuya Island.See more..

Mongpong island, offers a different type of seashores, from white sands, to rugged, dramatic, corralled and rocky that gives a different consciousness to all visitors. The impressive rock formation of Ungab, served as the natural monuments in the island. This rock formation is the most visited part of barangay island Mongpong. The island rely on farming and fishing. might not enough for them but the preference to live in a simple life is their choice. The people are very courteous and gracious, the reason and you just say, the island is an island of good natured people. As going around, no stray children in a dirty clothes found around. no sign of poverty, despite the fact that the villagers is dependent in fishing and farming in a seasonal mode. It was a one of a kind beach wherein it's shore is made of shells and corals. There were no formal cottages but simple shed made by the natives. We bought buko to freshen up and indulged on the beach's natural beauty.See more..
