There is good system and flow of the people. there is paid ticket of Rs 250/- per person for quick darshan line. the cleanliness was very good. I had visited earlier in 2011, but overall systems and cleanliness has been better at least 100 times better. large bags, etc are not allowed. Mobiles are allowed but photos & videos not allowed. drinking water facility is available inside the premises at suitable distances. normally between 11 am to 2 pm rush is high and crowded. i would recommend to carry cap for aged people. the walkway is carpeted throughout and that is very good thing that the administration has done See more..

Sas bahu or Sahastrabahu temple is a beautiful temple close to the Gwalior fort entrance. A little hike or walk from fort entrance will take you there. - Unbelievable but True

    Kal Bhairav Temple image
Its an old temple complex . The main prashad is wine which is being offered to Shri Kal Bhairav. The offered wine is drunk by Shri Kal Bhairav statue. Normally there is rush which can be managed better but administration is lacking here . In case of heavy rush Purohit put your offering of wine in container near Shri Kal Bhairav which later being offered to Shri Kal Bhairav. It's unbelievable but true that statue drink the wine. There might be different science angle in this phenomenon but aastha and believes are above all logics. Shi Kaal Bhairav is supposed to Senapati ( Head of Army) of Shri Mahkaal Raja. Beware of Monkeys as well. Jai ho.. See more..

    - He is King Ram here
    Religious Sites
    Ram Raja Temple image
The Lord Ram is King Ram here, hence called Raja Ram Mandir. You will go thru the story of this at many other reviews and articles, so i am not repeating. What to see here 1. There is a very beautiful painting of Kuwari Ganesh and Lod Ram sitting on her lap. Unfortunately since cameras are not allowed here, we cant click a photo of this. 2. In the temple Raja Ram is accompanied by Sita (on the left), brother Laxman (on the right), Maharaj Sugreev and Narsingh Bhagwan (on the right). Durga Maa is also present in the darbaar on the right side. Hanumaan ji and Jamwant ji are praying just below Sita. 3. Probably the only temple in the world where Lord Rama is in sitting pose. 4. King Rama is having a sword in hand. 5. Armed salutation (guard of honor) is provided to King Ram. I would suggest to go here at night after the Sound and light show of Orcha Fort as the crowd is substantially less and can have a peaceful darshan. See more..

We saw this temple on 18th Nov 2021 after Bhimbetka caves. Temple was built in 12th-13th centuries, although incomplete. Its richly carved dome ,having 4 pillars. The lingam in sanctum is of height 7.5 feet ,circumference 17.8 feet. it rests on a massive plateform 21.5 square feet. People of this area has great faith. Parking is poor,on entering village they take Rs 30/from a car. Small market selling pooja material, flowers, tea coffee, snacks etc. on entering temple area you have to enter your details in a register. Temple is at a height. Lots of langoors roam this area & sometimes snatch your prashad. Steps to temple are very high with no railings for support on lower plateform. Most unsafe for children No proper space to keep shoes. Entrance to temple has proper railing on upper plateform. Beautiful temple. See more..
  16. 4.5 Chausat Yogini Temple (155 reviews)
    - Temple worth visiting
    Religious Sites
    Chausat Yogini Temple image
It's a very good temple to visit at Bhedaghat. It's main gate is right on the road. One needs to climb about 100+ steps to reach the temple, but that's not very difficult. By the time one realizes, one reaches the temple. View from the temple is beautiful. Temple itself is quite good. Very good structure, a typical structure of a good Hindu temple in Northern India. Inside is an idol of lord Shiva and Parvati at the time of their wedding. Excellent and unique idol made up of black stone. The idol is more than 800 years old. There are idols of 64 respected ladies in the Hindu mythology. Unfortunately they are damaged during the historical invasion of Mughals. One fails to understand the mindset of people who dare to destroy such a beautiful art. We felt very peaceful in this temple. The efforts of climbing 100+ steps were worth it. See more..
  17. 4.0 Sun Temple (155 reviews)
    - Like a chariot
    Religious Sites
    Sun Temple image
The Sun Temple (aka Surya Mandir) is a Hindu temple dedicated to the sun god Surya. The building was apparently inspired by the Sun Temple in Konark. The shape of the temple and the sculptures that adorn the walls imitate a chariot. This temple is quite far from the centre of Gwalior. I’m guessing that if like me you’ve never seen the Sun Temple of Konark, then it's worthwhile coming out all that way to see this. See more..

  24. 4.5 Devi Jagdamba Temple (133 reviews)
    - For Devi
    Architectural Buildings • Religious Sites
    Devi Jagdamba Temple image
The Devi Jagdamba Temple is one of the smaller temples inside the archaeological complex and dedicated to Devi. Only about half of the temples have been preserved and the restored, while the modern parts are pretty obvious. Although it’s not the best of the temples in the complex, I liked it for relief sculptures still preserved and the scary looking idol of the goddess Devi inside the sanctum sanctorum. The reliefs are made up largely of the mithuna imagery found on Lakshmana and Kandariya Mahadeva temple. If you got tired of looking at the other too, then you won’t really miss much if you skip this one. See more..

    - Go for VIP darshan, if need peace and travelling with family.

    Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple image
Divinity all around but temple management could have managed the overall queue much better. We opened for VIP darshan - paid ₹1500 per couple and ₹750 for single and went for jalabhishek straight from gate number 4 - lungi and saree is compulsory for males and females respectively. It’s free of charge and provided by temple management only. Don’t fall into trap of some pandas suggesting you to buy them from outside shops. We could do darshan and jalabhishek only for few seconds as queue was long for VIP darshan too. Overall experience was better because of VIP ticket else would have been a difficult one as general queue management is very bad. See more..

This temple is a Hindu temple in eatern group of temples of Khajuraho. The temple sits on a high and grand platform considering the relatively small size of the temple. The temple is in excellent condition, surprising considering this temple is well off the main tourist circuit in Khajuraho. The temple is richly decorated with almost full relief sculptures of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. The inside and sanctum are small. It’s almost as equally ornate as the exterior, just with less. Inside the sanctum is the idol Vishnu, albeit headless. See more..

This was the first of the eastern group of temples of Khajuraho I saw. Unlike the archaeological complex of the western group, the temples in the eastern group are free to visit as far as I could tell. The Vamana Temple is dedicated to the dwarf god form of Lord Vishnu, which accounts for the idol in the sanctum and the bands of reliefs of dancing Ganas. Like the best preserved temples of Khajuraho also has some of the best reliefs, many of which depict various forms of Vishnu. While not the biggest temple in Khajuraho, it has great sculptures packed into one place. See more..
