Interesting little rural local church in the woods
Beautiful little church in the woods at Nellim. We visited during a snowmobile safari from Nellim Wilderness Hotel, but we also walked there from the hotel separately beforehand after a fellow guest said it was a lovely spot to walk to. Perhaps we struck lucky when we visited as part of the snowmobile trip, or maybe it was part of the arrangement, but it was open that time, with a local lady looking after it, so we got to see the inside. Beautiful little church
I guess the visit would have been excellent if I'd been able to visit indoors too. Fortunately the church was closed and I was only able to admire is outside. Anyway the church looks wonderful and there was a guard by the door when I arrived. There is also a small Orthodox cemetery next to the church.

Rustic church in the depth of the forest
Visited this church on the way to see some reindeer. A rustic wooden building fashioned and decorated in the orthodox style. The internal design is simple, while retaining adherence to its religious foundation. In particular a simple wooden altar with an array of paintings of saints in the icon style as the altar piece/backdrop. Above more paintings of angels in a circle surrounding an image of God. This church is well worthy of a visit en route to another attraction.
