Visited on a beautiful sunny day in early Spring. Just me and my doggie. It's a $5 entrance, follow the path to parking and from there you have several trails to take. I took the Lakeside Trail all the way through, it really is 1 hr and 30 minutes trail walk. And I especially took my time stopping and admiring the peaceful views. Once I got back to the parking lot I took a few steps down to see the dam waterfall. Although it's called a "park" it truly is more than that, it's the spot for hiking and biking, a true gem of this city. Moved here 4 months ago, been here twice and will definitely be a frequent spot for me. Can't wait to see it in all 4 seasons but this place has a very tranquil feel. There's also a section to view animals but dogs are not allowed, so I didn't go through it this time.

GREAT OUTDOORS!!
Even though I had a rough time with the terrain I still rated this park a five because of the wonderful atmosphere of the great outdoors. We also went on a barge ride on the mountain lake and saw a beaver lodge and heard the wolves howling in their area. The lady howled at them as we floated by and the howled back!!

Not bad/not great
Entry was $5 so we did get our money’s worth. We did not realize that so many things were not open. The gentleman at the gatehouse seemed to be very disoriented/out of it. (Was a very strange first impression of the park.) The nature center was nice and informative. The outside habitats were empty (perhaps because of the very low temps) except birds/wolves/2 deer. The reptile house was small but an interesting assortment of snakes and turtles. Perhaps coming at a different time of year would be better. Again, entry was only $5 a car, so if you are on the fence, go see for yourself.
