My favorite jellies are Mayhaw and Muscadine. You can only get them in East Texas and Louisianna. The Port of Jefferson Old Tyme Shop has the brand I like. They have a great selection of jellies and sauces to choose from Plus, they have Blackurn's products to buy too. The shop recently was sold and the new owners are very friendly.See more..

The town has made a nice effort to attract visitors with interesting antique, gift and similar stores. Several interesting restaurants. Easy to find parking and most everything is within a few walking minutes. It was a very pleasant couple of hours and a nice escape from the bustle and traffic of DFW. If you want a sense of a nice, small town of east Texas and a look at the very pleasant, friendly and polite people of the area, go there.See more..
