With a generally flat terrain and many access points, the trail is an ideal venue for all skill and fitness levels of cycling, running, walking and skating an unpaved equestrian trail parallels portions of the paved trail. The trail corridor traverses three counties (Citrus, Hernando and Pasco), offering an enjoyable, varied journey as it runs through small towns, ranches and six distinct natural communities between Citrus Springs and Dade City. The trailhead is pretty much a parking area and a kiosk with maps. Nothing else needed once you are hiking on these beautiful trails. My bff Buc and I decided to hike the "A Loop" because it's a trail on the Florida Trailwalker list. Mapped as 6.70 miles but felt longer with all the hills (Yes! I said hills). 50,000 acres here with miles of hiking trails, including the Florida National Scenic Trail. Holder Mine has a campground and hunt camp also. Excellent hiking trails and located just 2 miles from SR-44 in Inverness. Hiking is FREE! Highly recommended! Bring drinking water and your camera. Tons of photo ops! See more..
