Fantastic natural place

I visited Chamera lake from Dalhousie during our trip to Himachal Pradesh. Chamera lake must visited place full of nature and enjoyed boating 400/- per person but it’s worth. Also visited bhalai mata famous temple 6 km near to it.Camera lake is on the route of Dalhousie to Chamba. Also exploring Chamba in one day visit.

    Excellent engineering feat!
    They have been constantly generating 560MW electricity at this Lake. River Ravi is like mother for Chsmba region. They say, this region, at one time used to burn candles and supply electricity to the nation. What a sense of service. The lake, created due to Chamera dam is proving to irrigate huge stepped farms all along the lake. Hats off to the NHPC, the sacrifice by the locals and asa results generations would get to enjoy the fruits...

    Big lake short water ride
    Very calm and quiet place. The road to Chamera lake is a good driving experience. It takes about 45 mins from Banikhet just short of Dalhousie. Visit the lake in late afternoon for very beautiful lights superb for photography. The lake has options for speed not ride and a regular motorboat . Speed boat is more fun. They actually can look at giving speedboats / jet skies to ride independently
