Dramatic surroundings, great staff - nicely organized!
This is a gem, really well executed with the vantage point on top giving a great view of the split in the Rhine as well as give you some great info about what you are looking at in the different directions of the compass. Great for families with school children, great for the curious historian or the traveller that wants to see something a little off the beaten track. Great restaurant close by as well as the restaurant inside the fort. Nice to have the electric tuk-tuks for those that need a ride from the parking lot. Great modern take on a historic place! Bring sensible walking shoes and take the hike to the tip and the "split of the Rhine" as well.

Historic place as a new and modern experience.
Just reopened after a thorough renovation. If you want to know more on Dutch history this is a great place to visit. Part of the 'Hollandse waterlinie' here you can experience the last 300 years of Dutch waterworks and military history. For locals, Dutch nationals and tourists from all over the world a great place to spend two to four hours following one of the four tours. Today we did the best escape room experience ever. Getting the elements back into balance you have to solve puzzles and find clues all over fort Pannerden. Taking escape rooms to the next level. As an IT freak I really think the creators have set a next level. Enjoyed a cup of coffee in the bar. Will go back soon to do any of the other three tours. Thanks volunteers at Fort Pannerden for a great experience.

Nice place to visit during weekend
I recommend to visit Fort Pannerden. We were lucky and weather was wonderful during our visit. If you like history definitely you’ll like this place. If you don’t speak Dutch, don’t worry you can ask for English electronic guide.
