Great night out with friends and family!
This was our first time attending an event at the Arts Garage. The Miami Big Sound Orchestra performed and we know one of the musicians. There was a couple, two girl friends, myself, my two kids (20 and 13) and my friends son and his friend (19 and 18) we love music (especially live), we love jazz and our kids are musicians. We knew this evening would not disappoint. The music was phenomenal, the singer's voice was like caramel to the soul. We didn't sit still the entire time, bopping and snaping to the rhythm of the music. This performance is a must see!! Now for the Arts Garage, it was our first time so it was a little crowded when parking, we missed the street for parking garage so it took us a few minutes to get turned around in the traffic however the parking was cheap ($5) the venue is nice! It was a little too warm this evening but bearable. They allowed you to bring food and snacks which was great but you had to buy drinks and cocktails from them which was fine and the upcharge was not much at all. The drinks were delicious. The volunteers for the garage were all friendly and helpful. It was a very clean establishment. Definitely planning to go back again and again. Depending on your budget it could be pricey however we are supporting the arts and it was certainly a great night, well worth it! Time with my friends and family=priceless.

Great Performance by Sarge - Minor Quibbles
We visited the Arts Garage for the very first time on Sunday to see the comedian Sarge. We have seen him before a few times and he puts on a terrific show. So, the show was great and we and our friends had a pretty great time. The show, I would give five stars. The facility was not what I expected for such a venue. Lots of windows and daylight coming through and the ambience was, well, minimal. It is not stadium seating, so if you have tall people in front of you, seeing may be an issue. For the comedian, it really didn't matter. The seats were really not terribly comfortable. Better cushions would be helpful. Overall, for a non-profit, they appear to be doing a good job but anything to address the seating comfort would be a welcomed addition. The $25 raffle may appeal to some, but I thought it was a bit tacky. I'd rather them ask for patrons to leave any donation they can on the way out. The staff was super nice and you really cannot ask for better than that. These are really minor quibbles, as the show was great and the staff very friendly. We will be visiting this venue again soon. This time, we may bring a portable cushion. I'm sure the show will be spectacular.
