    Buicks on the Bricks
We were there for a wonderful Buick car show, held at the same time as "Back to the Bricks" a huge car show held on Saginaw Street each August, attracts over 2,000 cars of all makes and models. The Durant-Dort Carriage Company building has been restored and various types of meetings are held there

Birthplace of General Motors... A National Landmark
Did you know that General Motors started in Flint? Want to see where it all began? This Landmark (on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places) is located in the Historic Carriagetown District, just across the river (North) from downtown Flint. Currently only open to the public by appointment or on special occasions... this place is still worth a trip to read the historic marker in front of the building. After visiting, you can say that you've been to the place where the American Middle Class was born (as well as the largest American Automotive Manufacturer). The first factory building is across the street and horse carriages (not cars) were first built there. Be sure to see the small house around the corner where Charles W. Nash lived. He was President of GM in 1912
