Bezoekerscentrum De Trekvogel, Flevoland Province, The Netherlands

4.0 (33 reviews) Spent 1-2 hours Ranking #9 in Almere Visitor Centers

Fantastic educational stop-off point on a walk or drive

This is a great place to go - it's very educational with a huge amount of information about how Flevoland was created and some of the wildlife that has been re-introduced into the polder. The displays are great and information is very good, the only downfall is that i the information is not in other languages so you need someone to translate for you if you don't read/understand Dutch. The volunteers and staff are always very friendly and you can have a cup of tea or coffee for a couple of euros and even buy some great jams and preserves made by local people.

    Great starting point for birdwatchers
Based on the first building on the former island from which the construction of the southern Flevo-polder started, there is an exposition of the typical wildlife of Flevoland. After a cup of coffee or tea one can walk through the wetlands an woods in the neighborhood. These are particularly rewarding for bird watchers.
