The Land Gate, Zadar
The most elaborate of the city gates also has the prettiest setting, facing a sheltered little marina. Dating from 1543, it has Renaissance-style decorations including St Chrysogonus (Zadar's patron saint) on horseback and the Venetian winged lion. The gate is still used by traffic and was clearly meant to impress those entering – the reverse side is decidedly plain. To get a really good view go up the stairs on the side and walk up into the park. Great place to take photos.

Prettiest gate in Zadar
The land gate is the most ornate and prettiest of the gates. The Venetian winged lion on the gate is really impressive. It's next to a small arena. For really good pictures/views of the gate enter the city through the gates, take a left and you'll see a park. Climb the steps to get really good views.

The best and most well known of the original city gates.
Primarily because it used to be the main entrance into the city and is located by the Fosa Harbour with views of the water and is today the best preserved of the city wall gates. It was originally built by the Venetian architect Michele Sanmicheli in 1543 and features a huge triumphal arch and two side arches, all decorated with images of Zadar’s patron saint, Chrysogonus. This explains why there is also a large winged lion of St. Mark hovering over the central arch as a reminder of Venice’s long reign over Zadar. As others have mentioned the best view of the gate can be had from the elevated botanical garden to the right of the gate as you come from the harbour. During our explorations of Zadar I think we also found the Sea Gate, the New Gate, and St. Rocco’s Gate but none were a touch on
