Sveti Jakov Beach, Dalmatia, Croatia

4.5 (495 reviews) Spent Ranking #20 in Dubrovnik-Neretva County Beaches

Beautiful beach

This local favorite isn’t as well-known as Banje Beach, but offers the same splendid views. Tucked in a hidden bay to the east of Dubrovnik Old Town, Sveti Jakov (St. Jacob) Beach is surrounded by majestic cliffs and turquoise waters. The beach is covered with fine pebbles, so water shoes are recommended. A cozy beach bar and restaurant will sate any hunger pangs, and there are also sunbeds and umbrellas available for rent. After a day of snorkeling, diving, or sunbathing, climb a steep staircase to reach the historic Church of St. Jacob, after which the beach is named. – Tripadvisor

    Beautiful beach
A beautiful beach close to the old town of Dubrovnik. We went with the car and had to pay 30kuna for an hour close to the beach. You can see the Parking on google maps and thats where we parkee our car. There were enough parking spot and you can pay with either coins, card or via a website. We just paid with our card and enjoyed the beach. You have to take stairs to go down which takes maybe 5min and is not very steep or difficult. The beach is very clear and you can rent a bed for 50kuna and a parasol for 50kuna. We would recommend to go early because we arrived on monday around 13:00 and couldnt get a bed anymore. We laid down with our towels. Recommend to wear swim shoes because its full of stones. Review of 1 - 7 September 2021.

    Nice Beach with GoT Set
Jakov Beach is a little bit outside of the main Dubrovnik area but still walkable from city center. When I visited, the beach was not excessively crowded despite a smaller size. There are chairs out there, but some peddler is charging for them, which is always annoying. There are quiet places around the corner and on rocks/piers if you don't want to be on the main beach. A point of note here is if you walk beyond the access stairs for the beach, you will find an abandoned seaside theater that was a GoT filming location. This is where the Mountain defeated Martell in the show. This seaside arena also leads down to beach access, which has almost no one down there as it is connected to the old, abandoned Hotel Belvedere. Plenty of options and views to be found at this beach.
