A must but go in the morning
St. Michael’s Fortress is the oldest one in Šibenik. It was first mentioned in 1066 and it is the place where the city was born. Fortress was built to control and defend the Šibenik lagoon and the mouth of the river Krka. The strength of the ramparts made the fortress the dominant protector of the area. Today St. Michael’s Fortress is important cultural and historical monument. You can tour the fortress with an audio guide and view 3D mapping projections in its interior. The fortress is mostly recognizable by its outdoor stage which became one of the most prestigious regional stages in a short period of time.

Must see when u visit Sibenik !
I visited Sibenik and decided to see the fortress too. After a nice walk next to the port, I went with small streets next to the fortress from where there is a nice view point to see the city. The fortress is very nice piece of military architecture as well. You should see it !

Spectacular and wide-ranging views, well worth the walk and entrance fee.
It was well worth the moderate walk up steps from the old town to experience the spectacular views from the fortress up and down the Krka river, downwards to the city of Siberia and the roof of St. James’s Cathedral, and out to the islands..The view compares well with those from Mount Srd and from the fortress over Hvar Town. There was plenty of information about the history of the fortress and the other fortifications. All paths and steps were well-maintained,
