Sakarun Beach, Dalmatia, Croatia
3.5 (340 reviews) Spent Ranking #5 in Zadar County Beaches
Pleasant stay
Nicknamed the 'Caribbean of the Adriatic', this square shaped bay with a picturesque white pebble beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Zadar island archipelago. Its vibrant blue waters are shallow and gentle, perfect for a leisurely soak and families with children. Nearby attractions worth seeing include the Veli Rat lighthouse and you can also snorkeling around the remains of a sunken ship. Located on the northwestern tip of Dugi Otok island, boat tours are the best way to access this remote beach—there are no hotels directly on the beach. Alternatively, hop on a ferry and tourist train to get here. – Tripadvisor

Not worth the visit
Not worth the visit to be honest, the beach itself isn't sand like advertised its more shingle/pebbles - quite dirty and not comfortable - when you're in the sea though it's sandy, shallow and very clear..Perfect for the kids. Definitely not worth the 50 minute boat ride though. Wouldn't recommend.

Overrated place
Great for swimming and playing, but the beach is horrible on the outside, big stones, dirty, no shade, only on one side. It's not white sand, the sand is the same color as on other sand beaches. Water was very clear and clean, you get a feeling like you were in a big sand pool. Beach bars are too expensive. Not too many people on the beach which was a big plus. Probably because they were disappointed as we were, it's a place to see one time only.
