Excellent museum

The displays about both the Three Gorges and the history of Chongqing were really interesting and worth seeing. While there is not a lot of English (more in the displays about the Three Gorges than the Chongqing history displays) the pictures were so interesting. The view over to the magnificent government building is also a highlight. It is easily accessible from the metro too.

Good museum; be careful with some minor safety issues
Lots of interesting things to see. Plenty of good information in about the history and engineering behind the Three Gorges Dam project, and other things. A lot of the information is in both English and Chinese. Two minor things to be aware of: we were there with kids, and it may be easy for them to get into trouble, especially around the centre of the building, in higher floors, where it would be relatively easy to fall over the guardrail and plunge a few floors. There are signs against this, but higher safety guards would be better. Outside, the surfaces can be very slippy, especially after/during rain. there are lots of stairs nearby, so the slippy surfaces can also be a worry. Apart from the minor safety issues, I would certainly recommend this excellent museum.

    Nice Museum
I was in Chongqing for a day and my friends took me to see this Museum. Chongqing on it's own is very beautiful, almost surreal. Getting to the museum, we took the metro and the experience was futuristic, like something of the movies. Near the Museum are several other interesting landmarks. The Museum was interesting, so many exhibit halls. We went through all the open halls and had a nice time. Only shortfall for me was the pricing in the several souvenirs shops. The most attractive souvenirs were too expensive. In the end, I got just two small pieces.
