People’s assembly hall, is a big beautiful building with restaurants in the wing along wit other thing it inside is a big theater the seat several, sorry I don’t have the number. Outside in front there are fountains with dancing water . On the area in front of the fountains is a large concrete space the expense to the Three Gorges museum. At night the citizens gather and dance to the music and the dancing waters. I was last there in May of 20016

    An impressive piece of architecture
    From outside, the building is magnificient and you don't know what to expect inside, or its purpose. It reminded me in a way of the Sun Yat-Sen (Zhongshan) Memorial Hall in Guangzhou, by its mixed architecture from different eras. Some people complain that the inside is not worth visiting, but for 10 RMB, you can afford pay your contribution to such beautiful piece of architecture, especially when you know it's housing a large theater inside. Take the time to get yourself in the atmosphere, and don't miss the history of its construction, on the 3rd floor. I think the inside is still beautiful, especially with its coupole at the top. There is a little museum on the right side of the entrance, for free. Half of it is dedicated to advertise for the sponsors which paid to built the museum, so you don't know if you are in a souvenir shop or a museum. If you don't want that to happen to the theater (Chongqing People's Grand Hall), then you won't mind paying 10 rmb.

    If you have time
    At the entrance price of 10¥ per person, you get access to the hall. You can climb the stairs and observe the hall, its stage and beautiful roof from all the seat levels and see some photographs about the history of the Assembly hall. Right across from the People assemble hall is the three gorges museum, which is a free museum to visit.
