the 3 gorges XiLing, Wu, and Qutang are 120 kms long and 300KMS from the city. They are one of the 10 most popular tourist attractions in all China. You can take a 4day (3 night )cruise from Chao tian men Port. Meals are usually included in the price which starts at 1500RMB perperson depending on the season and cabin class. The 3 gorges dam is a masterpiece of engineering and is currently the worlds largest concrete dam. The dam wall is 2300 metres long and generates a huge amount of electricity throughout China. The scale of the whole dam and the dam project is mindblowing.

    Beautiful stretch of river
    Visited last May. A very pretty stretch of river - the water was almost clear in places. We were already cruising for 7 days along the Yangtze and had lots of options to visit Fengdu, Chongquing and Wu river.

    Serene
    A serene and peaceful view of the river and the cliffs, covered with green vegetation. The water is clean and calm. However, the scenery is not as beautiful and grand as the Norwegian fjords.
