The Stone Age & Landscape Path image
The walking path from Spa Hotel & Cottages to Haikankärki is called "The Stone Age & Landscape Path". This path is less than a kilometer in one direction, but the route is extremely beautiful. The path is on a very narrow peninsula named Haikanniemi and you see magnificent lake views on both sides. The vanishing point of the peninsula is called Haikankärki. There is a bench there and it is a good place to take a rest. Then you have to walk back the same route. There are some stones and tree roots on the path. So it is a good idea to stop when you take photos. If you walk one kilometer to the other direction from Spa Hotel & Cottages Summassaari, you find a Stone Age village. It is a museum, which tells about people's life 5000 years ago. It is a nice place for the whole family. There are some archaeological sites on the way to Haikankärki, too. We had a long vacation in Western Finland and my teenage son said that Haikankärki was the best place on our vacation. See more..
