Enjoyable Visit to this Hidden Gem
My husband, sister-in-law, and I enjoyed our visit today to this cute little shop/museum where we learned about how Manchego cheese is made. After our walk through the museum part, we were able to taste 3 different aged Manchego cheeses (3 months/6months/12 months) and have a glass of wine for just 5 euros. Perfect snack! Everyone who served us was very kind and helpful, and we would definitely recommend a visit to this place if you are in Toledo.

Hidden gem in Toledo
This small museum was a spontaneous stop for my husband and me while visiting Toledo for the day. There are 3 rooms describing the history of this specific breed of sheep used to make the cheese and how the cheese itself is made. This self guided tour is FREE. At the end, you can do a cheese and wine tasting for only 5€ per person! We got to choose a wine to drink and were given 3 different manchego cheese to try- all delicious. The lady that put together our wine and cheese tasting was incredibly knowledgeable. She knew so much about both wines we had and each cheese we tried, she even told us how to eat the cheese properly to get the most flavor. We don’t speak much Spanish, but both ladies working were able to speak English well enough that communication was no problem at all. This is a hidden gem and a perfect quick stop from the July heat!

Much recommended experience
The Museo del Queso Manchego Toledo is a free museum that consists of three rooms featuring an interesting exhibition on the making and history of manchego cheese. Afterwards, you may have a tasting of three different types of delicious manchego cheese and a glass of wine (for a very low price). The owners give a very interesting explanation with this tasting and are very passionate about the cheese, and are overall very kind. Must see for all cheese lovers and those who want to take a short break from the heat in Toledo.
